Horace Mann, best known as the Father of Public Education in America, was born in Franklin, Massachusetts. With a scroll in one hand and his other resting on a couple of books he wrote, Horace’s scholarly air radiates from the sculpture. The base has a bronze plaque featuring a schoolhouse in relief.
